I love these "woodblock print" looking images. This one from 1915 was originally captioned: "History will poke inquisitively among europe's ashes and write down all for future generations to read!" but I suppose it would have been more accurate (at least in this case!) if they had said: Some random person in the future will poke inquisitively among europe's ashes and synthesize lost images of the past for all future generations to view!
