Some ways to draw the knot challenge in the inkscape manual, http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Challenges-Knot.html. Built up from paths with no fills but strokes. Caps vary from butt to rounded one next to another path. Not a fluent solution, black stroke shows through the blues chop.
