Stereo TRS Jack

This plug is known as the phone jack, or the audio jack, or the stereo jack, and of course the TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) connector. It is used to transmit unbalanced audio signal in consumer and prosumer audio devices (professional audio equipment, on the other hand, uses the XLR connector which transmits balanced signal).



The sleeve is connected to the ground, the tip to the left audio signal, and the ring (between the sleeve and the tip) to the right audio signal.
