Let the Mob be Just

I must gently disagree with my esteemed colleague @j4p4n, who recently posted https://openclipart.org/detail/341987/stop-cancel-culture . I find that the phrase "cancel culture" is deployed to avoid discussion of the merits or power dynamics of criticism. So personally I would say rather than providing a blanket rationale to end criticism we should interrogate where, when, and why criticism is appropriate or inappropriate—to speak of "mob justice" implies that there is a preferable form of justice on the internet or elsewhere. I say instead "Let the Mob be Just".
