Moirae (singular here but sisters also) represents fate or destiny. some people are 'fatalists' who think we are controlled by 'the fates'. i look at it like sailing where fate is the wind - you should be a good sailor to use what wind comes your way. but when there is no wind you are becalmed like everyone else. that's when you decide whether or not to row :-) commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Offor_Destiny.jpg
