Open Clip Art Library 2.2 Announcement
Open Clip Art Library 2.2 Adds Themed Content
June 1, 2010 UTC - The Open Clip Art Library team is proud to announce the release of Open Clip Art Library 2.2 (http://openclipart.org). Open Clip Art Library now has over 31,000 original and remixed high quality scalable vector graphic (SVG) files that have been produced by over 1,400 creative artists!
A new element to the Open Clip Art Library Release is presented in the 2.2 update. In this and each subsequent month, Open Clip Art Library revisions will be accompanied by a themed package containing new work produced by the Community's growing artist base (now over 63,000 strong). In the spirit of new beginnings, this month's theme is centered on the Spring months. Visitors wishing to make use of the more than fifty original works can do so freely using the "spring2010" key word, or by downloading the package in it's entirety. Any users of the themed clip art, as with any other image found in The Open Clip Art Library, are encouraged to point back to the original works in some form. The artists featured in this initial package release include: pitr, rg1024, laobc, Gerald_G, pianoBrad, and qubodup.
The Librarians continue their efforts to produce the most secure and stable environment possible. In doing so, they encourage anyone and everyone to continue filing bugs and suggesting improvements (https://bugs.launchpad.net/openclipart). Users of the Open Clip Art Library can also enrich the Community by communicating and interacting through the mailing list, as well as logging in to IRC (#openclipart).
For more information on the specific development of the Open Clip Art Library, an often-updated project roadmap can be found at http://openclipart.org/wiki/roadmap. Any and all are encouraged to join the community of Librarians by assisting in the completion of tasks as they appear on the roadmap.
