Requests for new categories or types of images:

(definitions and guidelines are required for the above two, to work effectively. From what country or specification are we taking the SOC's and SIC's? If there is a United Nations specification we should first look there.)
  • Factory equipment, like conveyor belts, cranes, robot arms, loading bays, etc. The type of picture that would be nice to have in order to describe factory scenarios in research papers (which is what I intend to use them for).
  • Game symbols
  • Various religious symbols
  • Cliparts, that show common symbols like in the Wingdings, etc. fonts and are very well scalable. Most cliparts are overloaden with "artistic style" but miss the easy to get meaning of what they symbolize. It would be nice to have very strict but meaningful symbols, just as is available in the several symbol-fonts.
  • It would be important to address new-style media computers and portables/wearables for network-diagramming. Most network-diagram graphics are still based on 80ies style computers. We need a set that incorporates Mobile Phones, Smartphones, PDAs, DSL-Routers, MP3 Players (to symbolize dataflow).
  • I'd find it important to create lots of scalable elements for developers, such as GUI/Web-Design (Widgets).
  • Please make a collection of "most important" symbolic clipart while sticking to one style only. It does not look good in documents, if certain iconic styles get mixed. That looks unprofessional. Thank you.
  • Borders for letter-size and A4 paper. Lines, patterns for two or four sides.
PL: Good idea, even better would be a flexible border system, adapting to various sizes. Not a simple problem.
  • Software UI Design: For designing software user interfaces i use Visio 2002 Prof. The one and only reason therefore are shapes for windows software. If somebody could design some of this as scalable clipart, i can use your clipart an a good vectorbased graphic software.
For those of us not familiar with this software, can someone explain what this request means? I assume "shapes for windows software" means something more specific than "any shapes that could be used in software that runs on Windows", but I have no idea what. Please clarify. We do have quite a number of shapes in the collection already.
If these are very well known software logos, there will be a copyright on it. Otherwise, the requester could send a Visio file with typical cliparts he use and you can see them with "Visio Viewer 2003". The shortest URL I found is: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010352421033.aspx
  • Simple line art drawings depicting common nouns/verbs/activities, which are useful as visual aids for autistic children.
