  • Please add to Categories box title... Clipart Categories
  • Please correct Categories link from filters to tag "filter" (the name of the link does need to change as well)
  • Please correct Categories link from borders to tag "border" (the name of the link does need to change as well)
  • Please correct Categories link from external_source to tag "externalsource" (the name of this link does need to change as well)
  • Please correct Categories link from patterns to tag "pattern" (the name of this link does need to change as well)

For these last four, either these Beta links need to change, or the entirety of the filters,borders,patterns,externalsource tagged clipart on the old OCAL (soon to be imported New) need to be retagged.(That is not a bad option. Having them plural might make more sense. If necessary we'll have a discussion on this on the mailing list or wiki.)Chovynz 03:24, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Main Sets page

  • Discrepancy between Total Sets statistics box, and number of sets shown. Is there any way to distinguish between what is shown and what is totaled in the stats box? Perhaps an "Available sets: 4" underneath the Total?

On the Sets Homepage a set first show up when it contains more than 3 cliparts. Click the Sets title and than you come to the page where all Sets popup and this count is the same like in the box. --michaelkrnac 07:03, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Shadows: I suggest taking them off the sets. (See User Profile:Shadows) they are fine. I like how they are currently with the shadows. Chovynz 21:13, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Individual/detailed sets page : Can you remove Play in Window, Play All text box? Seems pointless to me for clipart. For Audio or video it would work, but not "still images". Thats coming in the future, but for now lets leave it off. Chovynz 03:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Sets RSS feeds need to go to correct locations.

Categories

  • Missing "Submit Clipart from External Source" - the current categories do not cover when a person uploads "found" art or items traced directly from another source (legally). Johnny_automatic 07:06, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

The tag can also be used in conjunction with Trackbacks. We'll have to experiment with trackbacks, and the "externalsource" tag to enable someone uploading from Wiki Commons or other sources. I think it's quite a legitimate concern as the uploader is considered the creator of the clipart which can be incorrect.

However, instead of making a new page for "externals", currently which is almost an exact copy of the normal upload page, we need a few extra fields in the Upload page. These could link to Trackbacks. Then when we get those fields php working on the clipart details, we can see WHERE the external source is. I've come across quite a few cliparts in the old OCAL database that have "externalsource" but no place where they came from. I think if a clipart is tagged external then it needs to show where it is from. I hope that made sense.Chovynz 20:59, 16 May 2009 (UTC) in LP.

Other

  • When adding a zip file you end up with an error message: ""/home/freie/public_html/cchost/cchost_lib/cc-debug.php"(298): error_log(/home/freie/public_html/log/cc-log.txt) [function.error-log]: failed to open stream: Permission denied [2009-05-13 23:15 pm][203.109.172.70][/cchost/file/add/164]". This is working as intended but Migrants from old OCAL will need to know the new method. We might need to come up with a mass upload method. in LP.
  • Auto svg=>png script needs tweaking. If the SVG clipart is bigger than 250px the script is fine. However when the clipart is smaller, the auto script needs to magnify the clipart, so that the png file is a suitable size. See this star for an example. This is logged into Launchpad.

Clipart Details

*When a clipart is added to a set using the set button on clipart details, a blank screen appears with a message "({"message" : "str_pl_track_added"})". It looks ugly. please hide this confirmation message, or make it look more like the "You have logged out" message with the phrasing "This Clipart has been added to your set."

  • Suppression of secondary Download buttons. I prefer the one clipart = one upload method, however I think it would be good to have only one button on the Clipart Details page. To that end we need to remove "Add file". However, I don't know if this will affect zip or .gz files. This is logged on Launchpad.

Tags page

  • Please add a space_colon to Tags page. So "Tags Buttons" becomes "Tags : Buttons"
  • Please remove Media tags from being automatically added to uploads.
  • Please remove Public_Domain tags from being automatically added to uploads.
  • Please remove Video tags from being automatically added to uploads.

These three tags have no point on a Public Domain clipart website. If OCAL extends out into video and audio then yes they might be used for those types of files, but not clipart. Chovynz 03:34, 14 May 2009 (UTC) in LP.

Hidden (unpublished clipart) page

Hidden Files are currently lost. They were available before but something changed. Now they are unavailable. This means if any clipart is unpublished the uploader cannot see them anymore. That is the problem. I don't know how this works with Admin rights, but I think we should still show hidden files or unpublished ones on the uploaders Manage Files screen.

Old hidden link now goes to User profile which is incorrect. The hidden link should go to the hidden files. http://216.40.235.204/cchost/people/chovynz/hidden This page is used to display all the unpublished files. It still needs to do that, but a link should be added in the text of the User Profile section. </br> OR </br> Up near the Login Icons.

So:

  • 1) continue to display unpublished files on the Manage Files screen, perhaps in a section above the listed clipart

OR

  • 2) Put an ICON link to the users hidden files near to the Login Icons

AND/OR

  • 3) Put a link to the hidden files in the User Profile as text. in LP

  • Edit Set Properties - Error message on Submit button click. "Missing required query args: "playlist" ". Name and changed details gets changed correctly. Done.
  • Edit Set Properties - Please change "Track Order Edit the order in which the tracks play"... to "Clipart Order Edit the order in which the Clipart displays".

User Profile

I don't think the following pages are working as intended.

  • 1)I have not rated the plum picture, but it's appearing here in spite of no ratings. Some of the other clipart I have rated are not appearing.
  • 1)I have not favourited the bell pictures, but they are appearing here. Some of the cliparts I have favourited are not appearing here. Compare My Favourites.

Thats all about YOUR Cliparts. Not that stuff you did on other cliparts. Maybe need another title to clear it out?--michaelkrnac 08:01, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

  • User Statistics Reviews: Are there supposed to be links to the reviews that have been left/done?

Compare old OCAL version: Left by chovynz : chovynz reviewed by someone else. Done

  • User Profile page Sets shadows is not centred. It needs to be consistent with other shadows. UPDATE: Lots of shadows appear when you have lots of sets, and the missing centred shadow appears. I suggest taking shadows OFF sets. They are fine. Chovynz 21:08, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

NSFW tags

I added this part since these are a specialist tag. (Not system but used quite extensively and exclusively - similar to borders, filters). Although these tags are not specifically a page they need to be taken into consideration on how to deal with them.Chovynz 02:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

  • The hiding clipart only appears when NSFW tickbox is ticked. The hiding thumbnails needs to apply ALSO if the nsfw tag is found.
  • It would also be great if the nsfw tickbox is ticked automatically if nsfw tag is found.
  • Please add nsfw tag, when tickbox is checked.
I was thinking about this. I'm not sure nsfw tag should be added automatically. It makes them all easier to find under one place. I'm wondering if we are making a bigger deal than necessary...hmmm but schools might block OCAL if we have easily available nsfw stuff, and that is counter to our goals. Do we want a birthday check or some other annoying thing?

Statistics

*There are discrepancies between Browse Viewing Total ("of 86") and the number on the Statistics page. (Total uploads: 88) I have deliberately unpublished 2 cliparts to test that unpublish capabilities, so I suspect that is where it is. I don't know what should be done in this case. Maybe add "Unpublished Clipart:2" beneath Total uploads.

  • Missing Sets Statistics box in main stats page.
  • The box should be appearing on the Stats page, in similar formatting to the rest of the stats boxes.

  • Trackbacks JS: Need input boxes defined. Please add a border or different colour background.
  • Remove Editorial link from User Options button. This should probably only be reserved and used by admins/librarians for exceptionally well made clipart, or highlights.
  • Remove Podcast link from User Options button. Not relevant to clipart.
  • Keep Video link on User Options button. Could be relevant to clipart.
  • Keep Webpage link on User Options button. Could be relevant to clipart.
