The purpose of this page is to attempt to increase the exposure of the Open Clip Art Library everywhere on the internet.

If a search for the string "clip art" is done on a search engine, a large number of sites are found. The majority of these results are either paid clip art sites or sites that claim to have large numbers of "free & royalty free" clip art images, when in fact they have nothing but links to sites that if you are lucky may contain some clip art. This results in a user, who after browsing for clip art for a large period of time settles with low-quality images or screenshotting images off a paid website to get the image that they require.
This is one of the major reasons why the Open Clip Art Library was established - to create an archive of clip art that can be used for free for any use.
Most people that search for clip art or create clip art images are unaware that the Open Clip Art Library exists. The major goal of this campaign (if we can call it that) is to increase the exposure of the Open Clip Art Library so that it is the best and most known source of clip art anywhere on the internet.

Search Engine Listings

Search for the string "clip art" in the list of common search engines and directories and record how many places from the top the open clip art library is.
The list of search engines we use are listed in the table below. The ideal goal of this tracking measure is to do this simple search of the searches every friday, and the results will be displayed in the table below...
