SVG in gallery's OpenOffice

(this discussion have been copied to community portal) Hi there,

thank you for an excellent piece of software.

I just want to confirm something. For me to use the images of Open Clipart Library, I have to install the filter (which consists of three files). I then must OPEN the graphic file in Write which will open Draw and then Copy and Paste it in Draw?

How can I get these images to show by default in my Gallery?

Regards, Deon

Hi Deon,
In OpenOffice 2.0 : Gallery > New Theme > write OCAL
press again New Theme > press Find Files
You are in the gallery's directory - OO will scan all the directory and subdirectories - you may change for another directory where you have all OpenClipArt Library or put all files of the tarball from OCAL in a subdirectory of gallery's oppenoffice
Then OO will ask you to add everyting or just one file.
I hope it will help you --Patricia.fidi 05:17, 1 Aug 2006 (PDT)
Dave here, hiyah.
Have tried your suggestion Patricia, but it didn't work for me. As far as I can tell, openoffice just isn't set up to handle SVG format clipart. The only way I've managed to do it is exactly as Deon described, and even then, a lot of detail is lost (consider file animals\az-lizard_benji_park_01.svg when viewed with Firefox). The only real way we'll have decent access to this collection with openoffice is when openoffice is made to be fully compatible with it. Simple as that, I'm afraid. Unless some one (please, anyone!) can prove otherwise.
